The plaque says, "The red-tailed hawk soars the open skies high above the valleys and rock outcroppings of the foothills, the mountain peaks, and the vast open plains of easter Boulder COunty. A witness to countless changes over time, she flies from the past, embraces the present and gazes into the future. Dedicated to the residents of Boulder County to commemorate out sesquicentennial anniversary as one of the 17 original Colorado Counties."
