As the plaque reads:

Rosenort Mennonite Church

Mennonite settlers who arrived in this area in 1892 held church services in private homes until 1896, when the first church of the conference of Mennonites in the North-west Territories was built on this site. The Mennonites community had organized the Rosenort Mennonite Church in 1894. Named for the community in West Prussia from which their Elder, Peter Regier, and others had come. In 1902 the original log structure was replaced by the present Church, which was remodeled in 1954.

As the plaque reads:
A Century of Grace, 1892-1992
With a strong faith in God and courage to begin anew, our forefathers left Russia to settle on homesteads west of Rosthern. Church life was at the heart of this settlement, which began April 2, 1892. Four years later (1896) the first log church was built which was replaced in 1902. Renovations resulted in the present building.
In 1929 Eigenheim became independent of the Rosenort Church. Then in 1964 the first salaried minister was hired. Today we celebrate and give thanks.
