As the plaque reads:

This plaque commemorates the Grain Milling Stone from the Doukhobor Village of Petrofka.

In 1899 the massive immigration of some 7600 Doukhobors from villages in Russia came to Canada. They settled in villages of similar identity to their homes in Russia. The village of Petrofka was established in 1900 (1899). The milling stone became a part of their ability to sustain themselves. The village was disbanded in the late 1920's.

The milling stone was donated by Gregory and Zonia Postnikoff in an effort to "Remember Our Past"
