The 20' tall, granite, Orange Civil War Monument has three large square tiers supporting a fluted column with an urn on top. The monument rests on a two-stepped base and is surrounded by a grassy area and a low granite wall with eight low pylons. The monument contains the names of every person that enlisted during the Civil War from Orange. It was created in 1870 and erected in the center of Orange's Central Cemetery.

The upper tier has pilasters at each corner and the front, south side, is inscribed:

The middle tier has scrolls at each corner the dado has the date:

1870

The lower part is inscribed with the following names:
