Portland City Hall (1895/1998) is located at 1220 SW Fifth Avenue (New Address) and 1221 SW Fourth Avenue (Old Address), Portland. Architect: Whidden and Lewis/Renovation by SERA Architects. Built in 1895 and restored in 1998, the Renaissance, Classical Revival style City Hall is one of the grandest buildings in Portland. When City Hall was built, it had one of the first steel frames in the state. The $30-million restoration program managed to return most of the original charm to the structure, much of which had been destroyed by haphazard changes over its lifetime. City Hall's rotunda on SW Fourth Avenue shows the damage where a huge construction crane crashed down just after the renovation had begun.Instructions for logging waymark: A photograph is required that shows you (or your GPS receiver, if you are waymarking solo) and the place.
