Probably the oldest building on this block, this wood frame building began life as a taxidermy shop, as the title suggests. Since that time it has housed many businesses, but nothing even remotely related to taxidermy.

Pound's Taxidermy

3204-30th Avenue 1893

One of the oldest structures on Barnard Avenue, this building was put up for W.C. Pound, a taxidermist and furrier, who operated a workshop and retail outlet at this site for several decades. Over time, the store has been home to restaurants, a book store, a clothing store, and a gift shop. In the 1990's, the building was restored to its former glory. "Mr. WC. Pound, taxidermist, moved last week into his new shop, on Barnard Avenue, where he has much more convenient quarters"
