This little 103 year old brick-faced concrete block building has had many tenants over the years. It was built by a group of Belgian investors which bought 14,606 acres in the area in 1907, having previously bought 200,000 acres in Saskatchewan.

2923-30th Avenue 1911

This concrete office building dates to 1911, when it was constructed as an office for the Land and Agricultural Company, a syndicate of Belgian capitalists who considered the western provinces of Canada an excellent area for investment. In 1941, the building housed a sports shop with a law firm on the second floor. In later years, a coffee shop occupied the main floor while an accounting firm did business upstairs. "A fine two-story building... handsomely fitted up and furnished for the local offices of the Land & Agricultural Company... where visitors to the city are welcome to call and secure information regarding the district..."
