This marker explains the ownership change in Cove Fort, from the government to the LDS Church. The plaque says, "in 1988 Cove Fort was purchased with contributions from the following descendants of the families of Ira Nathan Hinckley and Arza Erastus Hinckley, along with interested friends. They donated the fort and surrounding property to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for restoration as a living example of Utah's pioneer heritage."
