"The Lower Greenville space that formerly housed J. Pepe's is resurrected today (March 14, 2014) with the official opening of Vagabond, the new spot from John Kenyon, who according to SideDish has "been in the food business on Greenville Avenue since 1980" (he also owned legendary club The Red Jacket).
Via a press release, Vagabond is a neighborhood restaurant and bar featuring craft cocktails by Eddie Campbell, 30-plus craft beers, food by chef/general manager Stuart Jameson (formerly kitchen manager at Mot Hai Ba) and a bocce ball court.
The former Tex-Mex restuarant is now done up with murals by local artist Frank Campagna (including a dreamy cloudscape on the back fence) and "walls covered with art from Texas songwriters & partners Joe Ely, Terry Allen & Butch Hancock."
