This campground is the largest. It (and Campground 2) are nearest the fishing areas along Roaring River. Roaring River State Park has
a web page on the three campgrounds, including a PDF file with site information for each of the campgrounds. The wording is not clear as to when this campground is open, just "on season", so you may need to check if your stay is not in the typical tourist season.
In the 11 years since this poster has been in the area, this campground has suffered some damage by floods and bad weather. Each of the campgrounds has its orientation. Whilst campground 1 has the best and biggest shower room, and is nearest to the swimming pool, it is farther away from the fishing - thus good for those who are there for the stay, but not the fishing. This campground (number 3) has a very simple shower/bathroom and no playground. But it is the angler's choice because of its proximity to Roaring River.
