We happened to be staying at a motel just off Columbia Street that had patios in the back and a great view of the city, so that evening we took some night shots. Directly above the motel and less than 100 metres south is a viewpoint, from which one will see essentially the same view, possibly a bit better, as it is a bit higher, so the coordinates given are for that viewpoint.
Both views are in the same direction, north, looking across the Thompson River toward newer sections of the city.
Since the view is from a viewpoint with a large parking lot, one may park and shoot. The viewpoint is just west of Columbia Street, opposite Greenstone Drive, at the top of the hill west of downtown
Kamloops.
Kamloops is the self-styled
Tournament Capital of Canada and is situated in south central British Columbia at the confluence of the North and South Thompson Rivers.
