EN: The two-storey timber-framed building on Münsterplatz was the first school in Binningen. It was used until 1836 and is now a residential house.
During a renovation in 1999, the building was examined in depth. It was built in 1624 and in 1684 extended by the upper floor.
The house has been preserved in its structure largely in original condition, which is very rare for houses from the 17th century. Also this Alsacian style is not widespread, in the communities that belonged to the city of Basel.
DE: Das zweistöckige Fachwerkhaus am Münsterplatz war die erste Schule in Binningen. Sie wurde bis 1836 genutzt und ist heute ein Wohnhaus.
Während einer Renovation im Jahr 1999 wurde das Gebäude genauer untersucht. Es wurde 1624 erbaut und 1684 um das Obergeschoss erhöht.
Das Haus ist in seiner Struktur weitgehend im originalen Zustand erhalten, was für Häuser aus dem 17. Jahrhundert sehr selten ist. Auch ist der vom Elsass beinflusste Baustil in den Gemeinden, die zur Stadt Basel gehörten, nicht weit verbreitet.
