"The town features churches representing several denominations, and many clubs and organizations which schedule activities throughout the year. These organizations include (but not limited to) the Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center, High Desert Helpers, Inc., VFW, American Legion and their Auxiliaries, Rock Club, The Black Canyon Community Association, BC Saddle Club, BC Trail Coalition and others.
Black Canyon City has a post office, library, two community parks, a cemetery, Fire District, and rescue squad (ambulance and helicopter pad available). A medical center which is open five days a week.
Local businesses include two gas stations,ATMs', auto repair shops, variety stores, beauty/nail shop, Dentist, auto parts store, auto glass, insurance agencies, general contractors, real estate offices, a motel, and apartments. We have a KOA and RV parks/campgrounds, restaurants, saloons, grocery stores & delicatessens, a Laundromat, a feed store, a preschool and several gift shops. Black Canyon City has two water departments, one is privately owned and the other is owned by its' users.
We have a Nationally recognized (non-motorized) Trail used for hiking, biking and horseback riding. The trailhead begins on Hwy 74 (south) and goes past Hwy 69 (to the North). Our trailhead is located on Warner Road just south of town off of Old Black Canyon Hwy just before you get to Rock Springs. We have a tourist Visitor Center that greets thousands of guests annually, bringing in commerce to our town and our state.
