[NL] Helikopter landingsplaats nabij de kop van de Veerdam. Hoofdzakelijk gebruikt voor zieken vervoer. De vluchten worden meestal uitgevoerd door de Koninklijke Luchtmacht. Deze hebben drie reddingshelikopters. Eén van deze toestellen is altijd 24 uur per dag inzetbaar en is gestationeerd op de Vliehors-range op Vlieland. Het type toestel waar men mee vliegt is een Agusta AB-4 12 SP SAR (search and rescue).
Wanneer het om levensbedreigende situaties gaat, maakt men gebruik van de traumahelikopter van het Universitair Medisch Centrum Groningen (UMCG). Deze helikopter (type EC 136) heeft zijn thuisbasis op vliegveld Eelde en is ook 24 uur per dag inzetbaar.
