The New Avengers disrupt the activities of Felix Kane, which results in a car chase in which Kane is seen to be burnt to death when he collides with a petrol tanker.
A year later a worker for Dr Armstrong, the inventor of the Cybernauts, Frank Goff, is released from jail and is met by Malov, Kane’s personal assistant. Goff takes Kane to the building containing the remaining cybernauts, and is killed by Kane afterwards. Kane now has a working Cybernaut, which he uses to kidnap cybernetics expert Professor Mason. Mason is forced by Kane to equip Kane’s body with cybernaut limbs. Kane intends to use his new powers to wreak revenge on the New Avengers. He is thwarted by Steed using an aerosol on Kane.
