A wayside shrine probably dating from medieval times. I was told that the figures have been replaced recently. Located on a traffic island at the end of Monnow bridge, Monmouth, Wales.

The wayside shrine is located near two medieval structure:
St Thomas the Martyr is a 'Church in Wales' Parish church, dedicated to Thomas a Beckett, Archbishop of Canterbury, who was murdered in 1170. The Church was built in c1180.

And the Monnow Bridge: Monnow Bridge and Gate is the last remaining mediaeval fortified river bridge in Britain where the gate tower stands on the bridge.
