The unit provides area citizens with fire protection and rescue services from their station off NC 73. There are two pumpers and several other vehicles in their equipment list. They provide other departments with mutual aid coverage via and equipment truck that can refill air bottles for air packs firefighters use to provide air while entering a burning building or other hazardous breathing environment. Rescue equipment includes the Hurst Tool for extricating victims of pin-ins. Staff are well versed in emergency treatment through continuing education and hands on training to be ready for any possible emergency.
