Named for the 28th President of the United States, Wilson Elementary is located in the Mesta Park neighborhood of Oklahoma City. The students are known as the "Wise Wolves", and a carving of two wolf heads, is located at the northeast corner of the school property. The school colors are blue and white. Their newest logo was designed in 2004.
From the Wilson Elementary School website:
"In the fall of 1919, Wilson opened as a seven-room school. At this time there was no indoor plumbing and 21st and 22nd streets were dirt roads. A pond was located on what is now the playground, where neighbors grazed their cattle..."Wilson was the first public elementary school in OKC to have a library and a school lunch program on campus."
Wilson Elementary serves about 350 students in grades 3-5 (wikipedia).
