The Baptistry including the Baptismal Font was a gift to the church of St Mary the Virgin by the parents of a 15 year old girl named Mary Done, who died suddenly when she was an evacuee from London, in 1942 at Ross on Wye, Herefordshire.

The Church of St Mary the Virgin is a medieval church.
The church has stood on one of the highest points in Ross-on-Wye for over 700 years. The spire can be seen for many miles around, and dominates the Town it is one of the largest churches in Herefordshire.
