Nob Hill Court -- Albuquerque NM - Route 66 - The Mother Road on Waymarking.com

The Nob Hill Court started as an Auto Court providing a resting place for weary travelers on US 66. As the decades passed, and the Mother Road faded away, the Court and motels shelters transients and hookers plying their trade.

Today, these properties are being acquired by developers, renovated, and, in some cases, repurposed. The renovated Nob Hill Courts is now a small development of cute shops, offices, and restaurants.

"Nob Hill Court, 3712 Central Avenue SE, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Opened in 1937 as the Nob Hill Motel, this former motor court has been renovated and now contains offices and restaurants."

The mix of old and new along Route 66 gives a glimpse of the future for those 1930s-era auto courts and motels that can be saved -- unfortunately, the Aztec could not (that is another Waymark).
