This 12 foot high obelisk was erected in 1924 as a WW I memorial dedicated to the memory of the men of the parish.

The memorial was later updated after WW II with a dedication to the men from the parish who died in that war.
The memorial was moved to a nearby churchyard in 1958 when the A1 road was built through the village. After a new by-pass was built the memorial was moved back to its original position in August 2013.
