It has celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2014. With approximately 30 member, it provides emergency care for the sick and injured in their district. It is available an ready to assist with mutual aid for other units in Robeson County. The unit can put it resources into any emergency that arises. A heavy rescue vehicle transports personnel and equipment to scenes of accidents. They have paramedic staffed ambulances to provide transport as needed for victims of illness or injury. In addition, the squad has watercraft for emergencies on the many bodies of water in the area. Urban Search and Rescue teams are trained for disasters. The unit hosts a landing pad for medi-vac helicopters.
