This pub sign is in two halves, the top half being the name of the pub and the bottom half a photograph of three real horseshoes lying on grass.

The pub was probably situated near to a blacksmiths that was used to shoe horses.
The fact that three horseshoes are shown rather than a full set of four indicates the design is probably based on the coat of arms of
The Worshipful Company of Farriers.
Interestingly the pub sign shows the horseshoes with the open end at the top. In folklore horseshoes are considered to be lucky, but they're supposed to be kept this way up so the luck can't leak out. The Worshipful Company of Farriers are obviously a practical organisation that rely on skill rather than luck and their horseshoes are displayed the other way up.
As well as the pub sign, the pub also has some over sized horseshoes displayed on the side wall of the pub.
