The gate is a metal design painted in blue, black and white. It has a simple but distinctive wheel in the middle held in place with spokes.

The works were formed in 1902 in London but were destoyed in the war in 1940. A temporary home was found in Hitchin, Hertfordshire until its present location was found in 1946. History and details of the works can be seen here visit link
