Marais Memorial Hall 1926 The Marais Memorial Hall was constructed on this site in 1926by community volunteers and designated a "temperance hall". It complimented the church a mile south and the school across the road to the west. The hall was the focal point of the commenity hosting suppers, dances, family gatherings, plowing matches, whist drives, Mother's Day teas, and always the Christmas program. It survived the floods of 1950, 1974 and 1997. and remains a symbol of this community's strength past, present and future. July 2, 2000
