The Embarrass weather station stands in the tiny green-space in the center of town next to a wooden thermometer which still claims to hold the record for the coldest place in the nation, at least on the February 2, 1996 when the original thermometer broke at -64 degrees. Local weather forecaster Roland Fowler uses this facility for his regular reports on the local radio station each morning.
