It is situated between an old public bath house built in 1902 and the Alhambra Theatre built in 1913.

There is no record of what the building was originally used for.

The date is displayed at the top of the building on two stone shields one on each side of the building. The left hand shield displays the century, 19, and the the right hand shield the year, 05.
