The area is acclaimed for being the best grain and cattle producing area in Manitoba. In fact, Inglis was known as the “Barley Capital of Manitoba”. This has entrenched agriculture as the dominant industry.

Inglis is home to the five prairie giants - Inglis Elevators (visit link) - a national historic site and Manitoba Star Attraction.
