The Banjo Pier, is so called as it is a pier in the shape of a banjo.
A magnet if you are taking a walk along the sea front in Looe.

"The banjo pier is a natural and popular point to aim for on a walk around Looe harbour, especially to see the returning fishing trawlers at high tide. But in bad weather it can be the last place to be and dramatic and tragic tales can be told about the banjo pier" Text Source: (visit link)

From Wikipedia:
"The most notable example is probably the Banjo Pier in Looe, Cornwall, as it was the first and thus the prototype for many others around the world. It was designed by Joseph Thomas and built by Daniel Taylor." Text Source: (visit link)
