This plaque is mounted on the William Tallman Warehouse at the foot of Centre Street in New Bedford. The plaque has a relief depiction of the ship and reads:

THE FIRST SHIP BUILT

WAS LAUNCHED
THE DARTMOUTH
FRANCIS ROTCH, OWNER
SHE WAS ONE OF THE VESSELS
