The major battle of the Austro-Prussian war - Battle of Königgrätz (
visit link) - was preceded by several other military clashes and minor skirmishes and battles. These skirmishes had their own victims and these victims have own a monuments.
This is the memorial of the victims of The Battle of Trautenau [CZ: Trutnov] (
visit link) was fought on June 27, 1866. It was the only battle of the war that ended in an Austrian victory over the Prussians, but at a large cost.

Na mestském hrbitove v Polici nad Metují stojí monumentální osm metru vysoký pískovcový jehlan zdobený ležícím lvem. Pomník byl postaven nákladem místních vojenských vysloužilcu.
