Though there doubtless are flesh and blood horses named Rusty, we thought it quite an appropriate name for this particular horse. Rusty was done by Cedar Mueller, a native of the Chilcotin area of BC, now living in the Canadian Rockies in Canmore, Alberta. Having grown up on a horse in a very rural area, her output consists almost exclusively of horses and grizzly bears, both painted and sculpted. Rusty was inspired to create Rusty by welded scrap metal "horses" she had seen in the Dominican Republic. Rusty is her first attempt at this style of sculpture - pretty good for a tyro!

Rusty can be found on the north side of Columbia Avenue, just west of Washington Street. Depending on your outlook, he is either hard to miss or easy to spot.
