HRH Princess Royal opened the station in 2006 reuniting the branch line by bringing the railway home to its origins. There are great views here as you are in the centre of the Forest of Dean. The trains de-couple to make the return journey to Norchard (central station) and/or Lydney Junction which is the most southerly point of the line.
There is no parking at the station but there is a small ticket office and toilets.
