This church is 1.3 miles northwest of the small town of Purdy. Unfortunately, the surface of the sign board at the front of the church has been removed, perhaps to be remade. The grounds are kept in great condition, and the electric meter is still present and running slightly. Only the bell, in front of the church, is missing from its mount.
Without a sign or web page, one can only guess at the church service times. At least the topographic maps still identify the church. To confuse matters, the name New Salem is pretty common. There is another New Salem a few towns south (still in Barry County), northeast of Seligman, and another New Salem over by Neosho.
There is a larger country church a short distance away (slightly visible in one of the photos) named Ozark Christian Church.
