Mounted on an irregular cut, 80" by 100" by 20", granite block with a curved top are two bronze plaques. The 42" by 72" plaque on the front contains a bas-relief sculpture by William Gordon Huff that was cast by the Ellison Bronze Company in 1930. It depicts four officers, including James Hicks Wallbridge, mounted on horses reviewing the troops of the 2nd Vermont Regiment. On the sculpture is the inscription:

The back of the monument has a smaller plaque which contains the seal of the Grand Army of the Republic and the American Legion and is inscribed:
