Im 16. Jahrhundert wurde die Uhr und die Marienkirche errischtet.
Beim Bombenangriff 1945 wurde das Gebäude bis auf die Außenmauern zerstört. Nach der Übereignung an die Stadt Dessau wurde das Gebäude 1989 bis 98 wieder aufgebaut. Seitdem erstrahlen die goldenen Zeiger auf rotem Grund zu neuem Glanz.

In the 16th century the clock and St. Mary's Church was built. The firebombing 1945 the building was razed to the outer walls. After the transfer of ownership to the city of Dessau, the building was constructed in 1989 to 98 again. Since then, the gold hands shine on a red background to its former glory.
