The sign is attached to a 2.5-meter tall and 1.7-meter wide stainless steel, concave wall that rests on top of a brick and concrete base. The wall has a crack running through it. The sign is part of a memorial created by Goetz Dorl in 1987. The sign's text is in German and reads:

[English translation courtesy of Google Translate:]
"On this site stood until it was destroyed in the second world war the police headquarters, place of oppression and persecution of the revolutionary workers' movement. In January 1919, fighting occupied Berlin workers. In the time of fascism here thousands of German and foreign antifascists were imprisoned, tortured and murdered many. They died for us!"
