Southampton's Civil War memorial is located near the entrance to Center Cemetery in Southampton, MA.

A well maintained 20' tall brownstone obelisk is topped by a carved sitting eagle. An auxiliary granite tablet was added on the ground on the south side of the monument in 2009. The east facing shaft of the monument contains a carved shield superimposed over flags, rifles and swords. The shield is inscribed:

DIED
FOR THEIR
COUNTRY

On the east dado is the dedication:

Erected by the Town
and Hon. S. C. Pomeroy
In grateful remembrance
of the patriotic and
brave Volunteers of
Southampton, whose
lives were sacrificed
in defense of Liberty
and Union during
the great rebellion.

Below is inscribed the date and name of the carver:
