The Guilderton LPO is located in the local roadhouse and is open from 0830 to 1700 Monday to Friday and 0830 to noon on Saturday, apart from selling stamps and receiving parcels there is a very limited range of other services.
Guilderton sits on the northern bank of the Moore River at the river mouth , which has a bar across most times of the year and is only breached when there is considerable rain inland, The town name is derived from the many guilders from the dutch ship Gilt Dragon which was wrecked nearby in 1656
