The POW camp sat on the southeast corner of the grounds of Fitzsimons General Hospital. The facility consisted of quickly built, non-insulated prisoner barracks, mess hall, guards barracks and lavatory/showers. The only plumbing was in the lavatory/showers. There was no central heat; the only heat was from stoves in the barracks. The area was surrounded by a stockade topped with barbed wire with three guard towers. The POW camp was razed in 1947.
