This British post stamp issued in 2006, from the series devoted to modern architecture in Britain, depicts the 30 St. Mary Axe skyscraper (The Gherkin) in London.

At the heart of the City, 30 St. Mary Axe, you can find an iconic London' skyscraper known as the Gherkin. The building was the headquarters of the Swiss Reinsurance Company (Swiss Re). The 180 m tall building, work of famous architect Sir Norman Foster, is not only a key element of the London skyline, but it is also the first skyscraper built in the British capital with green technology.
