Hádés unesl do podsvetí dceru bohyne Démétér Koru a ucinil z ní svou manželku a spoluvládkyni nad ríší mrtvých zvanou Persefona.

Statue of an elderly man in a wool coat, with a cudgel in his cap. In the House of Lords Kunštátu in Brno have a copy of Marked as Allegory of Winter. Assuming that this is the ancient deity, this is due grimness of face and figure as a whole, it's a god of the underworld Pluto (Hades).

In Greek mythology, Hades (the second fall of Hades in Greek also plutons, Latin Pluto) god of the underworld. He is the eldest son of the Titan Kronos and Rhea. After the birth of Kronos devoured him, because he was afraid that he was one of the sons freed from government. When his brother Zeus from the bowels Krona along with his other brother Poseidon freed after a big fight, Hades after the division of the world empire fell dead. Hades kidnapped to the underworld goddess Demeter's daughter Koru and made her his wife and spoluvládkyni the realm of the dead called Persephone. Hades was not popular among the gods and usually did not abandon his seat. Do things in heaven and earth to interfere too, knew that "everyone who is born once, must sooner or later come into the house of Hades."

From the sacrificial animals should prefer the black sheep in their sacrificial killing but had to look away. From the tree he was consecrated cypress and narcissus flowers. His name probably originally meant "Unseen" (ballast ecky base * n-wid-).
