THIS CHERRY TREE WAS PLANTED ON THE 6TH AUGUST 1989 TO MARK THE ANNIVERSARY OF HIROSHIMA DAY IN THE HOPE THAT SUCH AN EVENT WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN.
