In Boston's Seaport District, on Farnsworth Street, is Flour Bakery + Cafe, which has been featured on three of Food Network Shows.
The cafe is located between Congress Street and Seaport Boulevard, two streets in from the Fort Point Channel. There is parking along the street in front specifically for the shop, and in a parking garage across the street.
The bakery is on the first floor, with the entrance from a raised patio relative to the street. The inside is roomy, with blackboards crammed with items along the wall and behind the counter. The counter is toward the back. The menu items include coffees, teas, pastries and breads, sandwiches, quiches, salads and other light fare. The take out menu states that delivery was available in the Boston-Cambridge proper area 7 days a week.
The specialty is sticky buns. They are large and rectangular, with a light yellow bread texture, and an ooey-gooey top with walnuts. You can eat it with your hands, but you could also use a fork and knife. These are what the Food Network shows feature. It was the show, "The Best Thing I Ever Ate," was where I saw the bakery. Flour Bakery + Cafe has four locations. The show centered on this location.
So, come on down an have a bite!
