The memorial, in the shape of a truncated obelisk, has atop it a rifle and helmet, symbolic of the grave of a soldier. Inscribed in the stone on all four sides are plaques and quotations. It was placed at the corner of Main Street and Third Avenue in memory of all the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the two World Wars.
