Lampenberg is a municipality in the district of Waldenburg in the canton of Basel-Landschaft with a population of about 500.
Lampenberg was probably founded in the 6th or 7th cenutry by Alemanni settlers. It was first mentioned in 1226 as Lampenberc. In 1400 it became property of the city of Basel. Since 1833 it is part of the canton Basel-Landschaft.
Lampenberg is still today a rural village with mainly agriculture and some inhabitants commuting to the larger commercial centers in the area.
The town hall:
The town hall of Lampenberg is located at the main road in the town center. It is a standard functional building of the (probably) 1970s, without any remarkable features. The local firehouse is in an annex of the town hall.
