Texas Rangers came to Boomtown Borger in 1929, to clean out the town of corruption, bootlegging, and prostitution, Prisoners were chained together and secured to a log such as this one. This crude jail was used to hold them until their day in court or they could be escourted [sic] out of town.

This redwood log was used to plug an abandoned well in 1929. The log was removed in 1999 by DJ's Oil Well Service.
