This is a vintage theater in a small provincial town in Southern Portugal.

The opening of this theater occurred on the 21st December 1952, with the screening of the movie "Duas Causas", featuring an actress who was born in the town.
But the roots of the movie theater go back to the 40's. By then there were occasional movie screenings in a storehouse and one of those evenings, a group of friends - Jaime R. Passos Pinto, José Ferreira, Joaquim Dias Rodrigues, Francisco Dias Neves, José Pedro
Guerreiro, Manuel da Silva Barreira, Francisco de Sousa Correira and Raul Inácio Diogo - decided to do whatever was necessary to provide the town with a proper theater.
In February 1950 the company was oficially born and in the same year the building works started.
Later, the movie-theater ended its activity. But on September 1989 the municipality bought the property and after some renovation works it opened again, in 1993.
