The Glenwood Firehall is on the west side of Main Avenue, between Centre and First Streets. A long building, it could easily house twice as many vehicles as its pair of doors suggests. Indeed, their website tells us that it houses 2 pumper fire trucks and 2 rapid response grass fire trucks. It also indicates that Glenwood has an ambulance, but does not state that it is housed in the fire hall. The department is part of
Cardston County Emergency Services,, which provides Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Medical Services in the western half of the M.D. of Cardston, as well as Waterton National Park and parts of the Blood Reserve.
Mid-River Fire Department
and Ambulance Service
The fire department in Glenwood has been in existence for about 33 years and many changes have happened in that time. We started with a hand me down old truck until in 2009 we purchased a brand new truck straight from the factory.
We have 11 great volunteers at present, several of whom are highly trained in the fire fighting field and in first aid.
Several years ago we amalgamated with Hill Spring to form the Mid River Fire Department then a few years ago we amalgamated again and became part of Cardston County Emergency Services.
We now have 2 pumper fire trucks, 2 rapid response grass fire trucks, jaws of life and much more equipment. We also have an ambulance in Glenwood. We are all proud to serve our community but hope we never have to in our line of duty.
