There are four frogs as part of the fountain. Each one, is spitting water from the mouth, into the reservoir. The frogs seem to be ceramic and painted to look like frogs. They are about a foot above the bottom of the fountain, but about 3 feet above the ground. Above them, there is a bowl for overflow water.
